Hadlow Road Station – the railway museum with no trains
In the 1800s, Birkenhead Railways operated a branch line between Hooton and West Kirby. The line closed to passenger trains in 1956. Freight traffic continued until 1962 when the line closed completely.
Now the Wirral Way footpath follow the old line through Wirral Country Park.
The Grade II listed Hadlow Road Station at Willaston was preserved as a small museum.
Join me as we take a look at how a small railway station would have been in the 1950’s.
