A fascinating history of Talacre at the Point of Ayr.
Today, Talacre is a peaceful holiday and retirement village at the most north point of Wales.
Built on land reclaimed from the sea in the 1800s, the settlement was originally called Trewaelod.
The iconic lighthouse has been disused since the late 1800s.
During World War 2, the beach and dunes served as a firing Range for trainee Spitfire pilots. Just yards away, a shanty town was home to evacuees from Manchester and Liverpool.
